Austin, Texas – December 26, 2006: The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the world’s leading provider of anti-fraud training and investigation, is pleased to award Mr. Zahir Sheikh, CFE the globally preferred ‘Certified Fraud Examiner’ (CFE) designation. CFE’s are knowledgeable in four areas critical to the fight against fraud: Fraudulent Financial Transactions, Criminology and Ethics, Legal Elements of Fraud and Fraud Investigation.

The ACFE’s Board of Regents awards this designation only to select professionals who meet a stringent set of criteria, including character, experience and education. Mr. Sheikh has successfully met these criteria and now joins the ranks of over 16,000 business and government professionals world wide who have also earned the CFE certification.

Mr. Zahir Sheikh, a Masters of Business Administration degree holder from Cranfield University UK, joined KPMG in 1987 as an auditor. He rose through the ranks becoming a Director of KPMG Consulting in 1992 and was admitted into Partnership in 1999. Sheikh heads the Forensic and Restructuring Practice of KPMG in East Africa. He has extensive experience spanning over 20 years in Forensic and Restructuring assignments in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, UK, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Mozambique, Somalia, South Africa and UAE among other countries.
